Anjunadeep’s Top 10 Most Epic Livestreams

With our biggest-ever live performance video going live on our YouTube channel recently, in the form of Jody and James' stunning set from Montenegro, we take a look back at some of our favourite location live performances.

James Grant & Jody Wisternoff - Anjunadeep 13 Live Performance from Lake Skadar, Montenegro

It’s long been our dream here at Anjunadeep to provide you with a visual experience as cinematic as our label compilations, and this year, we made that dream come true. In celebration of our thirteenth(!) label compilation, we whisked James and Jody off to the mountains above Lake Skadar, Montenegro, to perform a live version of Anjunadeep 13. With panoramic views at sunrise and sunset, soundtracked by music from Tinlicker, Lane 8, Ben Böhmer, Simon Doty, MOLØ, Cubicolor, Anyasa, Joseph Ray and plenty more, we think this set is something really quite special, and we’re immensely proud of it.

Perhaps ‘13’ isn’t so unlucky after all…

Joseph Ray - Live from ESCAPE, Joshua Tree

This performance from Joseph Ray has a very special place in our hearts here at HQ. Joe expertly blends the Haitian rhythms of tracks from his album ‘Leave the Bones’ with familiar electronic tracks from the likes of Bicep and Dosem (something we didn’t necessarily think was possible!), and the cinematic backdrop perfectly offsets Joe’s sweeping sound design. A perfect 10 from us!

CRi - Live from Carré de Gaspé, Montréal

Another performance that took place during the peak of the pandemic, this rooftop celebration of CRi’s album ‘Juvenile’ is a perfect demonstration of everything we love about CRi. Impeccable live performance skills, infectious energy and some seriously fresh moves. In CRi’s own words “c’était dope!”

ANII - Live from Tate Modern, London

We may be biased, but we think London is one of the best cities in the world, and this DJ set from ANII celebrates the skyline of our beloved hometown in sensational style. Have a watch, and tell us which is more dramatic - her deep techno cuts, or the sunset over St. Paul’s Cathedral…

Marsh - Live from Natural Bridge State Park, Kentucky

When we worked with Tom (Marsh) on his album ‘Lailonie’, we all wanted to find a way to celebrate this landmark release. As we were in the midst of the pandemic at the time, and indoor events were no longer possible, Tom jumped into action and organised this incredible, al fresco set in the stunning state park. Also available to listen to as a live album, we think this performance is well worth a watch - keep an eye out for the moment one of the drones crashes!

Anyasa - Live from Anjuna Beach, Goa

To mark his debut release under his new Anyasa alias, Indian producer Anish Sood brought us a stunning set from our namesake Anjuna Beach, near his home in Goa. It turns out trance classics and Indian-influenced house tracks over the rugged cliffs is a match made in heaven.

Richie Blacker - Live from Grianan of Aileach, Ireland

Anjunadeep was delighted when Irish producer Richie Blacker decided to celebrate the release of his piano house hit ‘2 Late 4 Love’ with a livestream. What we didn’t anticipate was how stunning it would be, and how you, the Anjunafamily, would take to it! This set has become a firm favourite for Richie’s surprise trance bootlegs and his sunrise celebration of a historic Irish monument.

Eli & Fur - Live from Hollywood & Vine, Los Angeles

Chock full of Eli & Fur originals, this sunset set over the roofs of Los Angeles shows the girls at their absolute best. Well worth a watch if it slipped under your radar at the end of last year.

Leaving Laurel - Live from the Barn, New England

This performance from Gordon Huntley and the late Pierce Fulton really had us hooked from the first beat. An intimate, organic jam session, this video is an incredible testament to Pierce’s musical prowess, and the duo’s unforgettable friendship.
