Artist Spotlight: Anjunadeep Explorations 22

Today, Anjunadeep unveils the 22nd(!) in our long-running Anjunadeep Explorations EP series. A showcase for emerging talent, this series has been the starting point for many current label stars, including Luttrell and CRi.

The latest in the series features music from IPeiqi, Da Capo, Kayrendasoul, James iD, Artche, Jats (ofc) and Kaive. Click the button below to listen to the EP, and keep reading for a little more insight into each of the new tracks!

Kayrendasoul & Da Capo

The first track ‘Gemini’s’ is provided by South African artists Karyendasoul & Da Capo. Both are well-established producers in their own right; Kayrendasoul has collaborated with Black Coffee, and Da Capo earned double-platinum status in South Africa for his first album ‘Indigo Child’. The elegant and steady tension of ‘Gemini’s’ has seen the track already championed by label boss James Grant in sets and mixes, making it an impactful way to start this new compilation EP.

“Collaboration is about creating something new and unique.Da Capo’s versatile production style together with mine I always knew we would create something very beautiful without trying too hard. And that’s exactly how ‘Gemini’s’ sounds!” - Kayrendasoul

Artche is a DJ and producer hailing from Newcastle, whose debut collaboration with Christoph was released on Eric Prydz’s label Pryda Presents, and who recently featured on Anjunadeep star Simon Doty’s album ‘Universal Language’. His offering to Anjunadeep Explorations 22, ‘Bleed’, is a moody breakbeat track showcasing the kinds of atmospheric production prowess that’s seen him earn support from the likes of Pete Tong, Annie Mac and John Digweed.

“When I wrote ‘Bleed’ I wanted to create something that centred around the more emotional aspect of electronic music and less about a club driven track, and Anjunadeep was just the perfect label for it.”

Jats (ofc) and Kaive

Jats (ofc) and Kaive, a French duo formally known as ‘The Dualz’, have previously delighted on Anjunadeep with tracks including ‘Your Eyes’ and ‘Inside Me’. Under their fresh alias, the pair deliver a driving and emotive melodic house anthem ‘Hypnotize’.

“'Hypnotize' is an aerial track with a lot of sensitivity. It was produced with sincerity, good vibes with club spirit.” - Kaive

‘Need You’, the penultimate track on the compilation is provided by Scottish producer and alumnus of Stress Records, James iD. His new offering is a masterclass in breakbeat production and showcases why he has been supported by the likes of Eelke Kleijn and Jody Wisternoff.

"I'm over the moon to be making my debut on such an incredible label. It's been a dream of mine to release with Anjunadeep ever since I started making music so it's a pleasure to be on Anjunadeep Explorations 22 alongside these other brilliant artists."

Chinese producer and Monstercat alumnus IPeiqi rounds off the release with ‘Redemption’; an emotive deep house cut with a rich chord progression, and a smooth final note on which to close out this Explorations EP.

“I grew up in Jinan, China, where I still reside. Seven years ago, during my time in high school, I began teaching myself music production. These years, I gradually discovered my true self and what I live for. My passion lies with melodic house, techno, and drum & bass genres. I'm always in pursuit of soulful and beautiful melodies and strive to create something fresh and new.

‘Redemption’ is my understanding of a journey from plight to relief. I dissolved the loneliness and plight of being caught up in the hustle and bustle into this song, which is both a creation and a self-redemption. This song is the great trace of my humble existence in this world. I hope that you can hear my longing and gratitude for this redemption.”
