Footnotes

Multi-instrumentalist and producer obli reveals ‘Footnotes’, an intimate companion EP to his acclaimed debut album ‘Soft Speak’.

Hailing from Newark, Ohio and now based in Los Angeles, obli channels over 15 years of seasoned musicianship into an atmospheric, sample-driven electronic sound. His extensive background includes touring with Skrillex, recording with Dead Sara, and playing guitar for Julia Michaels - experiences that eventually led to his signing with ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. His debut album, ‘Soft Speak’, brought that rich background together through warm textures and thoughtful songwriting. ‘Footnotes’ serves as the natural extension of that chapter, showcasing select cuts that emerged from the same recording window.

"’Footnotes’ includes tracks I originally thought would be on the album - even after turning in the final masters, I kept returning to them feeling there was still something special there. In a perfect world, everything you poured yourself into would see the light of day. I’m just really glad these finally get to find their place in the world." - obli
