Quivver delivers ‘Illusions’, the first single from his upcoming album ‘Alternate Futures’ landing November 25 on Anjunadeep Explorations.

British DJ, producer, singer and songwriter John Graham, better known as Quivver, has spent more than three decades pushing boundaries within electronic music. A fixture in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs for over five years, John first launched as Quivver releasing two singles on AM:PM before forming 1990s progressive house and trance group Tilt, whose music received widespread support from Sasha, John Digweed and Paul Oakenfold. Alongside his work as Quivver, John has explored a diverse range of sounds through a multitude of different aliases; Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof and Skanna, releasing on respected labels like Bedrock, Toolroom, Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi and his own Boz Boz imprint. He has continued to nurture both his independent work and up-and-coming talent, founding the Controlled Substance label in 2017. His music has continued to find new audiences across generations, from Space Manoeuvres’ ‘Stage One’ featuring on Sasha and John Digweed’s landmark ‘Northern Exposure’ compilation in 1999, through to constantly being present in Beatport’s Progressive House chart in the current day.

First joining the Anjunadeep roster in 2019, John’s track ‘Long Time’ featured on the ‘Explorations 11’ VA compilation. He returned with the ‘Love You Better EP’ in 2024 before delivering the ‘Into Thin Air EP’ and ‘Consciousness EP’ through Anjunadeep Explorations in 2025. Known for the consistent quality of his productions, Quivver tracks have made no less than five appearances across James Grant’s mixed Movement compilations spanning Vol. 1, 3, 6 and 7. His presence on Anjunadeep’s global lineups has steadily risen, from the inaugural Explorations label event at London’s 93 Feet East in 2025, to playing the label’s flagship events in Albania and Malta in 2026 alongside an upcoming set at The Cause for Anjunadeep London in December this year.

In John’s own words, the concept of ‘Alternate Futures’ “came from thinking about how every decision we make creates another path in life. You reach certain points where you realise things haven’t always unfolded the way you imagined, but those changes can take you somewhere completely new. That’s very much where I’ve found myself recently, both personally and creatively, and I drew a lot of inspiration from that idea. Somewhere behind every decision is another version of your life that never happened”.

Musically, the album looks to the future while drawing on the many paths John has taken throughout his career. ‘Alternate Futures’ marks a triumphant return to John’s singer-songwriter roots, combining his distinctive vocals with the various genres and tempos he has explored through his aliases over the years. John states that “by not confining this album to four-to-the-floor club tracks, I had the freedom to blur the genre lines a bit and draw inspiration from my previous musical identities”. Progressive sits alongside electronica and breakbeat, with signature Quivver basslines, samples and detailed sound design running throughout. The album moves between club-focused productions, vocal-led cinematic moments, and contemplative lyrics, featuring collaborations with Ruth Royall on ‘When We Look Away’ and Charli Elizabeth on ‘Nowhere Else To Go’. Written over the course of 12 months and drawing from a career that spans 30 years, ‘Alternate Futures’ sees Quivver at his best, bringing together the many sides of John’s musical life while looking towards what comes next.
