Aspect of a Dream

Denver based producer and multi-instrumentalist John Hastings, aka RUMTUM, makes his international debut on Anjunachill with ‘Aspect of a Dream’, the first single from his upcoming 'In a Forest' EP.

Blending world instruments with modular synthesis, he crafts immersive downtempo music that resonates with fans of Nosaj Thing, Boards of Canada, and Four Tet. After establishing himself through early collaborations with Monster Rally and acclaimed releases on Bastard Jazz Records, he launched his 2025 LP ‘Glue of Everything’ alongside a hand-painted art exhibition, followed closely by the ‘Off Script’ EP in early 2026.

Speaking on the concept of the EP, RUMTUM shares: "’In a Forest’ was created as a space for escapism, grounding, and connection through music. Inspired by late 90s and early 2000s experimental electronic music, the EP blends loose grooves, organic textures, vintage samplers, modular synthesis, and imperfect human moments.”
