yeah / rondo defence’.
Working behind the scenes for over a decade as producers and composers, the twin brothers bring together two distinct but complementary worlds. Josh has a background in electronic production and synthesis, while Sam's foundation comes from writing film scores. Both classically trained pianists, their music blends technical precision with a deep sense of atmosphere, shaped by early influences ranging from deadmau5 and The Prodigy to Ólafur Arnalds. Their journey into electronic music and releasing their own productions began organically through a chance meeting with Cephas Azariah, leading to co-writing credits on his album 'Joy Paradox' released on Anjunachill.
With their debut double single, the duo introduce a sound that feels both conceptual and rooted in place. ‘maybe yeah’ draws on distinctly London textures woven throughout their detailed and emotive production style - Reese basslines, UKG-inspired synths and foley highly reminiscent of Burial. In contrast, ‘rondo defence’ leans into Josh and Sam's wildly creative and more experimental side, built from resampling plant DNA through granular synthesisers to create the track's foundation.
With ‘maybe yeah / rondo defence’, josh & sam who are twins emerge as a special new voice in deep and melodic music. Their debut release is out on 22nd April on Anjunadeep Explorations.
