Leaving Laurel return with the collaborative 'disarm EP', alongside Canadian producer yehno.
Collaborative title track 'disarm' is the last piece of music co-written by the late Leaving Laurel member - and widely respected producer - Pierce Fulton. The lyrics speak to the poignant sentiment of the artists' own vulnerability, anxieties and mental health - discussions the three had at length during the period of writing in early 2021.
'disarm' is supported by two solo pieces 'farfaraway' and 'time will tell' from Erick Muise (yehno) and Gordon Huntley of Leaving Laurel. Fans may have heard 'farfaraway' earlier this year following its premiere on label boss James Grant's 'Movement Vol. 2' compilation, filmed live in South Africa and released in July.
Leaving Laurel have been widely acclaimed for their emotive electronica, featuring delicate melodies and rich, textural soundscapes presented across two previous albums since launching the project via Anjunadeep in 2020. This support has included esteemed publications such as Billboard, as well as extensive support from radio stations like SiriusXM Chill and BBC Radio 1.
Erick Muise, a fellow resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a long-time friend and collaborator of Gordon Huntley. The pair first began producing together in 2008, as part of Botnek, an EDM project that saw them work with names such as Deadmau5, The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix and more. Erick's releases as yehno have received remixes from respected artists like Jex Opolis, Tom Jarmey and Priori.
'disarm EP' is out October 22 via Anjunadeep.
