Following a hotly anticipated premiere on Anjunadeep 15, PROFF’s ‘Interpretation’ of Jakatta’s ‘American Dream’ is released in full.
Jakatta, real name Dave Lee, produced the original version of ‘American Dream’ in 2001, sampling two Thomas Newman pieces from the soundtrack of the 1999 film American Beauty - ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Dead Already’. The single went on to reach #3 in the Official UK Singles Charts and also reached the top 40 in Ireland, Spain and Belgium.
Arriving with his signature blend of organic house, PROFF adds a groovy drum beat while maintaining the distinctive tuned percussion and beautiful Thomas Newman sample found in the original. The result is a vibrant and danceable track with plenty of reflective breathing space in the middle.
