Dutch DJ, producer, vocalist and songwriter Nicky Elisabeth revisits three tracks from her debut album, ‘The Way Of Love’.
Featuring new versions of ‘The Lights’, ‘The Game’, and ‘Close To You’, Nicky’s own remixes have been a staple in her recent sets showcasing the clubbier and more dancey side of her production, still with her own beautiful and recognisable vocals front and centre across all three tracks.
Releasing ‘The Way Of Love’ has proven to be a pivotal moment for Nicky, firmly establishing herself as a key artist on the Anjunadeep roster, and solidifying her place within global electronic dance music. The album garnered widespread tastemaker support with reviews from Mixmag, CLASH, DJ Mag, Wonderland, and Beatport to name a few. Nicky’s touring has reached new heights in 2024, playing sets ranging from an intimate album launch party in Camden, London, to her own headline all-night show at Amsterdam’s iconic Paradiso, recently culminating with a performance at the ABGT 600 weekend in Mexico.
At its core, ‘The Way Of Love’ is a project that embodies Nicky’s journey of self-acceptance as an artist. The debut album and subsequent remixes offer a candid insight through Nicky’s creative journey, ambitions and desires, told through blissfully emotive and gently euphoric, electronic pop; equally as primed for sun-soaked festival crowds and club floors, as it is for inner world moments created through intimate headphones, home listening, or scenic, long drives.
In her own words, “‘The Way Of Love’ signifies my journey to finding self-love. In writing this album, I’ve experienced many creative and personal obstacles that needed to be overcome to reach the place I am now. I remember when I started writing many years ago, I was obsessed with the idea of being able to fully capture my being in music. I desperately sought after true authenticity to define myself sonically. Now, when I look back on that goal, it seems utterly absurd. This album is a collection of all the different shades and shapes I can take on as a person, and together they partly show you who I am, but never completely, as I am ever-changing.”
