Canadian producer Leaving Laurel releases his forthcoming EP, 'sketches for my beloved', arriving September 4th on Anjunadeep.
Leaving Laurel first emerged in 2020 as the duo of Gordon Huntley and the late Pierce Fulton, debuting on Anjunadeep with their self-titled album. Their sophomore record, 'when the quiet comes', followed soon after, with Pierce's brother Griff Fulton joining the project. Now continuing as a solo venture, Huntley ushers in a new chapter for Leaving Laurel while remaining true to the project's signature blend of delicate melodies and richly textured soundscapes. 'sketches for my beloved' follows the release of Leaving Laurel's acclaimed album 'our lives entwined', which arrived earlier this year. Expanding beyond the project's established sound, the album embraced a broader palette of synthesizers and live instrumentation while retaining the nostalgic warmth and emotional depth that have become hallmarks of Leaving Laurel's music. To date, 'our lives entwined' has amassed more than five million streams and received regular support from SiriusXM Chill and BBC Radio 1.
Featuring five tracks, 'sketches for my beloved' offers another glimpse into Huntley's creative vision, blending organic instrumentation with uplifting synths and immersive melodies. The EP includes the previously released single 'another good start', alongside new melodic offerings including 'a moment alone' and 'a lifetime has passed'.
'sketches for my beloved' is out now on Anjunadeep.
