Sebra Cruz makes his Anjunadeep Explorations debut with the ‘Play The Ground EP’.
The Italian DJ producer, real name Stefano Serafini, is a veteran of the country’s underground scene having toured extensively since the mid-1990s. Perhaps best known as one half of the influential duo Margot whose releases were championed by Sven Väth throughout the 2000s, Serafini has built a longstanding reputation for his adventurous take on house and techno. Together with his Margot partner Giaga Robot he founded Margot Records in 2006, a label that became synonymous with the more colourful side of Italian club culture.
As Sebra Cruz, Stefano continues to explore the intersection between classic club euphoria and leftfield expression. His 2023 debut album ‘Don’t Worry Psy Happy’ on Life And Death Records showcased this creative range, while regular collaborations with fellow Italian electronic innovator DJ Tennis (‘Punch Card’, ‘Truth Or Consequences’, and ‘Margaret’) cemented his place among Italy’s respected electronic artists. Serafini also has a broad range of remix credits, spanning Diplo, Catz ‘n Dogz, and Joseph Ashworth.
The ‘Play The Ground EP’ is a further refinement of Stefano’s modern sound; a daring and fresh take on styles spanning progressive house and electronica across the project’s three tracks. Recently, ‘Dancing Lovers’ became a standout moment in James Grant’s set in the main room of UNO’s Malta.
Sebra Cruz’s ‘Play The Ground EP’ is out now on Anjunadeep Explorations.
