Haunted EP

Hailing from Cologne, German producer and composer Alex Hoevelmann unveils his new project ‘Haunted EP’, a three-track collection that seamlessly blends indie-electronic, downtempo and breakbeat influences.

Defying genre boundaries, Alex explores a rich sonic palette across the EP. Opening with the title track ‘Haunted’, he teams up with Berlin-based electronic songwriting duo Propellar for an emotive, guitar-driven piece. Propellar reflect on the collaboration;

“We met Alex during a gig in Munich and immediately felt a strong musical connection. When he sent us this track and asked if we’d be up for writing vocals, we locked ourselves in the studio and the lyrics just flowed. There’s something mysteriously uplifting and melancholic about the vibe that really resonated with us. We’re proud to be part of such a beautiful and unique EP.”

Following is the formal release of ‘37’, a standout club-ready cut that first premiered on James Grant’s ‘Movements Vol. 1’ compilation. The track has since become a staple in Alex’s live sets, including performances at AfrikaBurn and Bahnwärter Thiel.

Closing out the EP is the breakbeat and drum & bass-influenced ‘Unwritten’, a rhythm-driven piece that pays homage to Alex’s roots as a drummer. He shares: “I’ve always been fascinated by rhythmic structures, and it was important for me to give them space in this piece.”
